Switchboard and Submains Upgrade

Mernda Retirement Village

Levande’s Mernda Retirement Village is a contemporary retirement village located  north east of Melbourne’s CBD.  Mernda requires ample electricity to power a state-of-the-art clubhouse and 272 dwellings.  Amongst other facilities and activities Mernda offers a heated pool and gym, media room, salon, bar, café, library and lounge.

The existing switchboard was no longer providing sufficient power for the needs of the village residents.  It was decided that a more powerful switchboard must be designed and installed at Mernda Retirement Village.

DJD Electrics carried out the following works:

• Design a 2000 amp switchboard
• Set up temporary generators for village energy supply
• Remove, recycle and scrap existing 1000 amp switchboard
• Install new switchboard

All works were carried out the same day to ensure limited disruption to residents.
